Collezione Ramo, Disegno italiano del XX e XXI secolo, presents from Saturday, November 23 to Sunday, December 1, 2024, the fourth edition of Milano Drawing Week, an annual event organized in collaboration with and under the patronage of the Cultural Department of the Municipality of Milan. The project consist in a constellation of exhibitions spread across the Milan area, showcasing works by established artists, those active on the current scene, and emerging talents, with the aim of highlighting works on paper and promoting its knowledge to an ever-growing audience.
The project's formula involves the Collezione Ramo opening up to the city, offering a selection of works on paper by 20th-century Italian artists to cultural institutions and galleries. Artists from different origins and generations, active in the field of drawing, are invited to choose a piece from this collection to place in dialogue with their own research within one of the 13 participating spaces. The goal is to create a dialogue between the rich historical and artistic heritage preserved by the Collezione Ramo and the current artistic trends, while also providing the public with an opportunity to explore a medium that is often less visible but unites creatives from all disciplines, capable of speaking directly to a wide audience.
La Casa degli Artisti hosts the exhibition Carta Rampante e Attrezzo Disegnante by Manuel Scano Larrazàbal: a large installation featuring a gigantic rotating drawing and a machine that draws in real time with suspended markers. The project is produced and curated by Collezione Ramo and entirely created using CANSON and LYRA products.
Additionally, CANSON products will once again take center stage on Sunday, November 24, Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1, at 4:00 PM, during the Workshop titled Celebrazione della casualità. In this workshop, artist Manuel Scano Larrazàbal invites participants to fully immerse themselves in the action, unlearning traditional drawing techniques in favor of marks generated by the body in motion, as a liberating act.
