Canson Art School Awards : results

1 April 2016

The winners of the sixth edition are unveiled!

The names of the winners of the sixth edition of the Canson® Art School Awards have been announced.

This year, 12 talented young artists from France, Spain, Belgium and Portugal were recognized in the categories "Drawing and Painting on Paper", "Photography" and -- for the first time -- "Free Technique on Paper". In addition, a group of five students won the "Facade Award"; their monumental work is on display in the heart of Paris on the facade of 59Rivoli! A free, unprecedented exhibition will be held inside the gallery from March 18 to April 10, 2016, enabling visitors to explore the works of the individual prize winners.

Awards honoring young people brimming with talent and creativity!

A jury of art world professionals chaired by Yves Sabourin judged more than 700 entries to select three winners in each of three categories, "Drawing and Painting on Paper", "Photography" and -- new to this sixth edition -- "Free Technique on Paper". Internet users also participated by voting for an "Audience Award" in each of the categories. The recipient of the "Facade Award" was determined by a group of five students from ESAIG ESTIENNE in Paris; they chose "Légumen", a work of great humor and whimsy. This year's awards are even more international with winners hailing from France, Spain and Belgium, all of whom are pursuing a variety of art studies, reflecting the diversity of contemporary artistic expression. The 2016 class A beautiful array of fully mastered techniques -- even more so in the "Free Technique" category -- driven by rich, highly personal thoughts and imaginations. With the sixth edition of its competition, Canson® continues to support young contemporary artists and shine a light on tomorrow's talent.
