Do you know Inktober®? This is an Instagram event initiated by the excellent illustrator Jake Parker. Mix Ink and October and you get Inktober®! The challenge is to create one drawing per day in ink on a given theme. The idea is to practice, to train, to move away from the themes that we usually draw and to do it each day. All in all, a nice challenge!
On the Canson® XL Book notebooks, Virginie will take on the themes of Inktober® with some changes compared to the initial Inktober philosophy. We open the field to possibilities: Virginie will not be limited to ink, she will be able to have fun with all techniques (graphite, watercolour, felt, coloured pencils, etc.). On the other hand, she will have a small additional constraint: she will have to integrate a hot air balloon into her drawings, a symbol that is dear to us since it is our emblem, our roots...
For those who don't know, the history of our brand began in 1557 under the leadership of the Montgolfier family. Over the generations, this family of papermakers has developed several innovations and inventions (including the famous hot air balloon). That's why you find the hot air balloon in our logo and also on many of our product covers!
Back to Inktober: during October, Virginie will give us one drawing per day that we will post on Instagram. If you too want to take part in the challenge, feel free to insert the hashtag #cansoninktober. We really look forward to seeing your works!
And that's not all; we are taking this opportunity to offer you a little incentive: repost Virginie's drawings on your Instagram feed with the hashtag #cansoninktober2022 and mention @cansonpaper. At the end of the month, we will draw 5 winners from these publications. Each winner will get:
- An A5 Canson® XL Watercolour Book
- An A5 Canson® XL Drawing Book
- An A5 Canson® XL Sketch Book
- An A5 Canson® XL Mixed Media Book
- An A5 Canson® XL Mixed Media Textured Book
- A box of 36 Lyra Aqua Brush markers
- A box of Lyra Rembrandt pencils Graphite Set
- AND… a limited edition print of a Virginie Siveton drawing (A4 format)
This incentive is open to the whole world.
Happy Inktober everyone!
